This is what I sent in for my bioBio for John Riley Synergyzer Baja Ha-Ha VIII - 2001 I grew up around and on the water of some of Minnesota's 10000 lakes. Water skiing, canoeing, swimming etc. in the summer, hockey and cross-country skiing in the winter. Studied Mechanical Engineering at North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota. Dropped out with one quarter left and moved to San Francisco in 1981. Worked at a fashion accessories company in various positions for 10 years before I quit working and went back to finish school. Graduated from the University of Minnesota with BS in Mechanical Engineering. I wandered to Thailand and lived there for a couple of years, trying to be a local but my skin was too white. Seeing that my Thailand dream was going nowhere, I accepted an offer to come back to the states and manage the former fashion accessories company. The company was closed a few years ago and I moved on to be a product manager at another fashion accessories company. For the past 6 years, I have had a powerboat I enjoyed hanging out on in the delta and cruising in the bay. I have also co-owned the sailboat Synergizer for the last 5 years, mostly racing the beer can races, but also day cruising in the bay. My power boat was totaled by a nastier than average wave that cracked the hull returning from a salmon fishing trip off the Marin coast, leaving me to concentrate on sailing. I was laid off from my job at the beginning of this year, and have been trying to figure out what to do next ever since. The Baja Ha-ha gives me the perfect opportunity to delay having to figure out what to do next, and looking for my next job. I also expect to work on my tan, learn some Spanish, and lose a little weight.
